Even household items you definitely don’t need or haven’t used in forever. I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point telling yourself that you will use that basket, plant pot or ten sets of sheets. So we decided to make it easy for you. Here are 10 decluttering question that will have you clearing out unnecessary items fast!
Do you know what this item is?
Yes, this can happen. Especially an impulse gadget purchase or random gift that you have kept. If you don’t know what it is, then it’s time to let it go.
Do I use this item regularly?
Daily, weekly or monthly? If you don’t then do you really need it.
Have I used or will I use this item in the next year?
Household items that could fall into this category are candles or tolls, screwdriver or hammer, for example.
Is this a seasonal item?
Seasonal items such as summer pool toys or ski clothing would fall into this category. If you don’t you don’t have a pool or skied in years, maybe it’s time to give those items away.
Is it outdated?
We highly doubt that VRC is coming back!
Is this item replaceable?
Especially inexpensive items that you can’t think of a reason to use in the near future.
Would I wear this or buy it now?
If the answer is no that move it out.
Would it impact my life if it was not here?
Again, if the answer is no, it can also move on out.
Is this broken and if so, will I actually fix it?
If you don’t plan on getting it repaired, then it can go.
